05 · Downsizing · Retirement living · Family
Senior moving,
a lifetime, moved gently.
A senior move carries weight the manifest never shows — the house where the kids grew up,
the sideboard with a story.
Our crews are chosen for patience as much as muscle: we wait while decisions are made,
and we never rush a goodbye.

The keepsakes
Family coordination
The family sees every step of it.
Touchpoint 01
The walkthrough, shared
A daughter three time zones away weighs in on the sideboard while it is still standing in the room.
Touchpoint 02
The record, shared
Nobody should have to phone and ask what is wrapped. The packing record travels with the family, checkpoint by checkpoint.
Touchpoint 03
The finish point, confirmed
“Did it all make it?” is a question that deserves an answer before it is asked. The finish point is agreed in advance, so the answer comes with it.
Who joins, what is shared and where the work finishes are named in your written plan.
The manifest
Care, at walking pace.
The work is the same white-glove protocol as every move; the difference is the pace and the listening. We plan around routines, photograph the rooms being left, and set up the new place to feel familiar by the first evening.
01An unhurried walkthrough
We sit down with the senior and any family — in person or on video — and map what's moving, what's donated, what goes to the grandkids. No timer.
02Downsizing triage
Moving to a smaller footprint, we work backward from the new space and help decide what fits — gently, and never pressuring.
03Pack-and-photo service
Dishes, art and keepsakes are photographed in place before packing, so the new rooms can be set up to match the ones being left.
04Donation runs handled
Items not making the trip go to the charity of your choice, coordinated by us so nothing lingers in a garage for months. You pick the recipient; we settle the timing and any fees before move day.
05Bedroom and bath first
At the new place the bedroom and bathroom are set up before anything else, so the space is livable that evening rather than next week. That order is the plan, not an afterthought.
06Heirlooms documented
High-value antiques and keepsakes get their own manifest lines and condition photos, and we walk you through the protection terms that apply to them before you book.
Protocol
Three gentle moves, no rushing.
Sit down, map it out
One patient conversation — what's moving, what's staying in the family, what's donated. Family across the country can join by video and stay in the loop throughout.
Pack with photographs
Every box labelled with contents and the room it came from; the shelves and walls photographed so 'where things go' has an answer at the other end.
Settle the first evening
Bed made, bathroom working, photos back on the wall in the same order — the new place set up to feel like theirs before the crew pulls away.

Questions
Asked by families like yours.
I'm arranging a move for a parent from another city. How does that work?
It often works exactly that way. A family member anywhere joins the walkthrough by video, and the communication plan sets which updates they receive and when. The quote identifies who can approve changes and which decisions stay with the senior.
Do you move people into retirement homes and assisted living?
Yes — retirement residences and assisted-living transitions are a regular part of this work. Share the residence's move-in window, elevator, protection and document requirements; the accepted scope and division of responsibility are confirmed in writing.
Can you help with downsizing before the move?
Yes. Sorting comes before packing on a senior move: we work backward from the new space, at the senior's pace, and nobody is pressured into a decision. Tell us which parts you want carried — sorting sessions, donation transport, a shipment to family or a storage option — and the plan names them along with who provides each one.
What makes a senior move different from a regular move?
The pace and the listening. Decisions get the time they take, one family contact stays in the loop, rooms are photographed before they are packed, and the bedroom and bathroom go in first so the first evening is livable. Those pacing choices are built into the schedule we assess, not improvised on the day.

Tell us the route, the date and what needs care on the way. A coordinator reads it and writes back — a real person, in writing, before anything is booked.
